Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the only Canadian cast member during the Season 1 of the series, and not seen much. It has been her main cast in the series ever since. While discussing her role, and the similarities with her daily life, she could be able to relate to the racism and negative treatment she's endured in her other aspects of life. The actress said: "I lean heavily on race. As I said, I've been through situations in which I felt that I was treated like the slave because I am white." It's not the first time I've been physically assaulted on the streets due to my race. But I've definitely been verbally abused. When someone is saying something hard or biting at me, I'll use any racial or physical insults that are real to me. I use that feeling in almost every scene because it feels like I'm being hit or slapped in some manner in nearly each scene."
