Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two tracks that were mostly in the Spanish and in 2016 there were four. At the peak of the popularity of Despacito 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish were included in the Top 100. In 2020, there will be 41 hits in this category. Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito came out in the year 2017. After that, some of the most popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny for MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna collaborated with Maluma to create Medellin. Some reggaeton artists have criticized the shift to mainstream music in 2020. However, a brand newly formed group called Rauw Alejandro, wanted to continue the development and growth of reggaeton. Rauw Alejandro incorporated elements of other styles and electronic music.
