Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actor and producer. Her professional career began in Mexico, where she starred in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), which resulted in an Ariel Award nomination. The actress soon made her mark in Hollywood with roles in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's performance as Frida the painter in Frida (2002), which she also co-produced was what was what made Hayek the first Mexican actress to win the Academy Award [6]. The film also brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and British Academy Film Award nominations. Later on, Hayek focused more on filmmaking while also appearing in action-oriented movies like Once Upon a Time in Mexico

She quit high school with permission from her parents in 1998, and then moved to the United Kingdom to further her career. Patrick raced in Formula Vauxhall, Formula Ford before returning to the United States in 2001. In 2002 she raced in five Barber Dodge Pro Series races for Rahal Letterman Racing. Patrick was a Toyota Atlantic Series racer for the next two seasons. Her best effort was when she finished third in championship standings for the 2004 season where she became the first female to win a pole position in the series.She began her career in the IndyCar Series with Rahal Letterman Racing in 2005 and took three pole positions.
